Welcome to all new P1 parents and welcome back to all our lovely existing parents! Hope you’ve seen start times and other info relating to Covid restrictions in the email from school. LPPC meeting dates will be issued ASAP and everyone is very welcome to get involved!
Please email Chairs Lauren & Emily at email@example.com with any questions
Our annual general meeting is a week on Wednesday, 26th May @ 6:15pm via Teams. It would be great if you could join us for the session which should last 1 hour at the most. Many of our most active parent council parents have P7s which means they will be moving on from the school in June. We’d love for some new faces to become involved and help make a difference to our children’s time at Leith Primary.
Come and hear what is coming up and see if there’s something that sparks an interest for you. If you’d like to join the meeting, no pressure to say anything or volunteer for anything, please contact us and we will send you the link to join.
Thanks to the kindness of our local guardian angels and the generosity of our own Parent Council, LPPC, we have been able to open up a school food store for any family who needs it. A wide range of non-perishables have been stocked in our former upper school cloakroom. Parents and carers are welcome to come along at Wednesdays 8.30am-9.30am to take whatever they need for their family.
Voting has opened! Please take a moment to vote for Leith Primary Parent Council’s bid for money to support the purchase of breakfast and snack food which, until now, staff have been buying themselves for pupils.
The parent council is hoping to win £1120 to provide breakfast and snacks for Leith Primary students through Leith Chooses www.leithchooses.net/
LPPC will provide the school with boxes of breakfast and healthy snack food items which will be positioned in each classroom and at key stations round the school such as the office. This is so that school staff can easily provide children with breakfast or a snack with minimal fuss or disruption to their learning.
There are a significant number of pupils arriving at school each day without having had breakfast, without a snack for breaktime or an adequate lunch. The boxes will support these vulnerable children who are falling through the net of other food provision in school or the wider community.
Visit Parent Pay to buy a 2021 calendar featuring self portraits by all the children from nursery to P7 plus some staff too! £3 each or £2.50 each if you buy more than one.
It features important dates across the school year. Also the P7s have created some lovely crafts including masks, keyrings and cards. Great stocking fillers and the money raised goes to charities chosen by the children.

Enormous thanks again to LPPC, especially Judith Weir and Nikki Dunne, for all their hard work in sourcing the prizes and coordinating the raffle. And thank you to all of our generous prize donors for their support of our Leith Primary pupils. Finally, enormous thanks to all of our parents, carers and friends of the school for buying a ticket and supporting us this Christmas. Money raised supports the school to buy resources like our iPad charging units, equipment and books for classes and treats like the pantomime on Friday.
All the winners will be contacted by email by LPPC to arrange how to collect their prizes.
