There is a free family festival taking place this weekend at Dynamic Earth!
The Festival of Physics is a celebration of science featuring hands-on workshops, super science shows, music, theatre, dome shows and much more.
Highlights for primary-age kids include the Physics Wizardry Potions Class, science shows from Neil Monteiro and Simon Watt, the Ultraviolet Drawing Room, making your own cyanotypes, making juggling balls, playing unique computer game challenges and joining the DIY Scratch Orchestra.
For younger children there’s a cosy tent with stories, songs and activities, and for teens there’s shows all about the physics of time and the fascinating science of colour, workshops on chocolate and an opportunity to explore cutting-edge science of gravitational waves.
There’s plenty for adults on the Friday and Saturday evenings too, with quizzes, astronomy, films and talks from world-class scientists – check out the full programme at www.festivalofphysics.org.
