The pennies have been counted and the results are in. The Christmas Fair raffle raised a fabulous total of more than £2,000!!! Thanks so much to everyone who bought tickets and all the wonderful companies that supported us by offering prizes.
The money raised is going fund a set of great new maths resources for the whole school called Numicon. https://global.oup.com/education/content/primary/…/numicon/… Numicon has been trialled with the infant classes and staff found that children are very engaged by it and it helps develop a positive attitude as it is child friendly and very flexible to use.
Numicon can be used from Nursery to P7 to encourage critical thinking, secure number concept, mathematical language and communication, with the support of a great practical tool.
So thanks again to all these businesses and all of you for helping to bring such an innovative benefit to all the kids at Leith Primary.
